Mills College or university alumnae sue college in excess of pending shutdown, merger

Alumnae of Mills School in Oakland filed a lawsuit towards the school, alleging they ended up blindsided by the college’s the latest announcement to shutdown or merge with Northeastern University.

The complaint, which was filed June 7 in Alameda County, statements that the college withheld details and paperwork from alumni trustees on the board of trustees, “therefore stifling [the] Plaintiffs’ skill to satisfy their fiduciary duties to Mills.” 

The team is trying to get at minimum 60 times to assessment the college’s publications in order to superior understand the possibilities on the table.

Legislature passes $52B budget, avoiding government shutdown

Minnesota’s divided Legislature quashed lingering fears about a partial government shutdown Wednesday, passing the final piece of a $52 billion budget that pours money into classrooms.

Lawmakers had just hours to spare before a midnight deadline as they approved a massive spending package to support K-12 education. They later approved a tax relief package that included nearly $1 billion in tax cuts.
